Nicole Tippets Forester
Nicole is a Board-Certified Music Therapist,
with her BA degree from Utah State University 2002. She completed her internship at Bethany Children's
Home in Pennsylvania, working in foster care,
short-term treatment, and an emergency shelter with
children and adolescents. Shortly after, she worked
for one year as a sub-contracted music therapist for
Sonata Incorporated in Maryland. While employed
there, she worked in Way Station and Turning Point,
two clubhouse facilities with adults dealing with
mental illness. She also worked with children,
adolescent, and adults with Autism and other
developmental disabilities. Additionally, Nicole
provided educational inservices
for the community, and
worked with local education boards
to include music
therapy on Individual Education Plans (IEP)
and
Individual Service Plans (ISP).
Afterward, Nicole worked as the Director of the Music
Therapy Program in Salt Lake City at the University
Neuropsychiatric Institute. She was responsible for
the acute inpatient units, providing group and
individual music therapy services to adults dealing
with trauma and/or chronic mental illness.
Finally, Nicole completed her Master of Science Degree
in Counseling in 2007. She is currently working as a
music therapist/counselor at Project Reality in Salt
Lake City, an outpatient clinic for
adults dealing
with opiate addiction.
Professional affiliations include membership in the
American Music Therapy Association and Utah
Association of Music Therapists, and
a member of the Utah Counseling Association.
